Final Paper
This essay is based on the work of Joseph Beuys. A brief biography is used in the beginning of the essay to form reason behind Beuys work. He used sound in combination with visual art work to harmonize the forces of nature and civilization, man and technology and art and life. The work of art that was used in this essay was A Endless Music goes Zen (Engineer-Ludiger Becker).

Unnamed sound
Unnamed sound??
After debating on which bus to take, I finally came to the conclusion that the 60 bus would be my best bet in finding some good sounds. Once I got out of the red zone, it was time to take walking into consideration. I did not want to go too far west because I wanted to be able to roam without confrontation/complication. I got off the bus on Burleigh Street near Bremen Street where a playground was. I walked a street down to Fratney Street and uncovered a sound only to find that another sound had uncovered me.

Field Recording...Drift
These recordings were taken on Sunday October 18th on the East side of Milwaukee. The drift strategy that was used was complete randomness when walking. Why be held back to a circle on a map or the roll of a dice when your visual sight can lead you to places that a controlled variable can not.

Total running time is 1 min. 6 seconds
My objective in this short edit was to describe something that happened in the past. This past memory is the 9/11 attacks on the Twin Towers. I tried to give the listener a point of view from ground zero. This edit has four sections to complete it. The first 24 seconds is the onset, the few seconds before the crash. People are realizing what is going to happen, and they have no control over it. The next 8 second section is the crash. I put two very distinctive sounds in to represent the two planes hitting the buildings. The third part is about 21 seconds. This part represents the realization of what happened. The shock and awe of what just happened. The final section of the clip is the chaos that followed. The people who just saw this are staring, crying and preying, wondering if there is anything they can do. This final part represents that.
